For those of you who don't know my Grandpa, you are truly missing out on an extraordinary person. He is nearly 90 years young, yet he seems like he is closer to 30! He volunteers, he helps out friends all the time (and I mean doing heavy labor), he takes care of my ailing Grandma, and he has a mind like a steel trap (he can tell you the birthdays of every one of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren). Anyhow, last year he decided to live out a life long dream and buy and break a team of black horses. His brothers thought he was crazy to take on such a wild endeavor. Yet, all of us grandchildren weren't surprised and, to speak for us all, I think we are pretty proud of him.
So, Cathy, Wyatt and Amy, Auntie Karen and Chris, Mason and I met Grandpa and Grandma out at their old homestead (the land they built their first house on) to go for a wagon ride. These horses were so big that Grandpa and his friend had to rig up some benches so that they could stand on them when they were suiting them up to ride! Can you imagine breaking 2 enormous horses, and taking care of them, at that age? I can't, but then again, you have to know my Gramps!
