Well, our little man is now 2 weeks old. I can't believe how fast the time goes. The past weeks have been a whirlwind of activity. I have to admit that I was pretty overwhelmed those first few days (especially since I got the stomach flu the day I got home from the hospital). But now...I am so in love and so completely happy. I can honestly say that life is 100 % perfect.
Over these past weeks, we've been doing lots of things. We've gone to Daddy's basketball game (our first outing), for dinner at Uncle Doug and Auntie Erin's house, to Daddy's Christmas party, and running errands. Yesterday, I could finally drive so we went for lunch with Grandma Heiken , Auntie Maureen and Auntie Susan. We also did a little bit of Christmas shopping. Mason did great in the stroller and spent the afternoon looking around.
We also got Mason weighed yesterday. I was a little worried because he's only been eating for about 10-15 minutes every 3 hours. But, I guess he's an efficient eater because he's up to 9 pounds and 15 ounces!!
Chris and I also think that he's the world's strongest baby. He can lift his head when he's lying on his tummy (and I'm not talking a little lift, he holds his head right up). And maybe it was just a fluke, but the other day during tummy time, he rolled over onto his back; twice!!! We've been spending a lot of time talking to eachother, reading stories, swinging, and staring at the Christmas tree (one of his favorite things).
As for his temperament, he is a wonderful and calm baby. He only cries when he's hungry or gassy and he's sleeping nearly right through the night; he only wakes up once, eats for 15 minutes and is right back asleep. We are so lucky and appreciate every minute as we realize this could easily change. The only thing I'm not very happy about is his aversion to chocolate. If I eat even a small amount, he gets a very upset tummy. For those of you who really know me, I must really love this guy if I'm going to give up chocolate!!

All dressed up for Dad's basketball game
Love Jenn
