The past few weeks here in Grande Prairie (and all over Alberta actually) have been scorching hot. Without air conditioning, it's been a challenge to keep cool. But, because we all know winter will be here before we know it, I'll try not to complain and enjoy every minute of this heat. To keep cool, we've been having daily pool parties (even Chris and I have crawled into Mason's little pool), we went down to the river, went boating with Erin and Doug, and just relaxing in the basement during the hottest parts of the day.
This past week, we headed down to Edmonton for a few days of time with family, and to attend my dear friend Robin's wedding. Her and Dave got married out past Stony Plain. It was a beautiful wedding (another scorcher of a day). Robin looked absolutely beautiful (and Dave wasn't too bad either). Congratulations to you both!!
At the wedding we got to spend some great time with Nick and Michelle (who live in Spain playing ball for most of the year). We're sending baby vibes their way!!!
And of course, a trip to Edmonton in the summer wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Capital Ex. Mason had the time of his life. There was so much to look at that he didn't even mind staying up until 10 o'clock. Grandma and Grandpa spoiled him with treats and Grandpa even took him on his first ride; a roller coaster.
We also spent a little bit of time with Auntie Raquel and Uncle Mike. I have to say that Raquel has got to be one of the best cooks I know. Another great meal Raquel...
With all of these activities going on, I almost forgot about how much Mason is growing up. At his last check up he weighed 18 pounds and 10 ounces and measured 26.6 inches long. In the last 2 weeks, he's cut his 2 front teeth (on the bottom) and is showing signs that he's going to walk long before he crawls (all he wants to do is stand up, with our help) and try to walk.
