Well, Summer is officially here and it looks like it's going to be a great one! Mason absolutely loves to be outdoors and since he's down to one regular afternoon nap, there is going to be lots of time for fun.
This year we went to
Stompede (
Grande Praire's fair) for the first time. We didn't realize that Mason was too young for all of the rides (kids had to be 2) so I lied and we took him on them anyway (not sure if that deems me a cool mom or an irresponsible one)! Regardless, he had a blast. And I'm pretty sure that Mason's favorite part of the fair was
the mini donuts (just like mom).

The Cow Bus also made a stop in
Grande Prairie last week. For those of you who don't know, the Cow Bus is a school bus that has been renovated into a "classroom on wheels' by the
Family Literacy association. It's a free thing where you can take kids and they have educational games and
activities to help children learn literacy skills. Mason and his friend
Bretton had lots of fun playing with the toys and reading a few stories. But, of course my little boy is such a boy and his favorite thing was the toy cars!

For Father's Day, Mason and I made Chris breakfast in bed (and Mason actually helped, he stirred the pancake batter and sampled everything to make sure it was
ok). Mason also spoiled his favorite dad with some new sunglasses, shorts, a book on
Einstein, some artwork (done by himself of course) and a really nice picture of the two of them for Daddy's new desk at work. By the way, if you haven't heard, Chris has just been hired for a new job. Starting in September he will be teaching
high school phsy. ed. at
Grande Prairie Composite. He is very excited about the change and looking forward to doing a lot of coaching.

On Father's Day, we went to Erin and Doug's for a
barbecue. Reese had burst a water balloon on his shirt so, what better solution that for both boys to strip down and show off their muscles!

Caryse is now an
estetician and is quite good at giving manicures. If you'd like to make an
appointment, let me know and I'll get you her number!

Grandma and Grandpa also thought it would be a great idea for all of the kids to go and cheer on Uncle Doug at his last ball hockey game. They had pom poms and
Caryse won the award for loudest screaming. The boys had so much fun running up and down the stands; but I'm not sure anyone got to see much of Doug's game.

And, work is finally underway in the yard. We've got topsoil and our post holes have been dug. Some of the posts are even cemented in. I'm hoping that as soon as school finishes this week, Chris can really get to work and we can get this done.

Well, that's all for now. We hope you're all enjoying the summer as much as us and we hope to see you all soon.
Love, Jenn
