3 Months Old

Last Wednesday Mason turned 3 months old. I know I keep saying how quickly times flies, but it really does.

Over this past month, he has really changed again. He now has complete control over his head and is beginning to gain control over his torso. He loves sitting in his Bumbo chair and is beginning to figure out the exersaucer. We just got him a jumperoo and he is already figuring out the jumping. He loves standing when we hold him as his chubby little legs are actually pretty strong. Mason is also learning to control his hands. He loves to stick his fist in his mouth, he is starting to grasp some things and he tries really hard to reach for things above him (like the animal mobile on his swing).

At his last appointment he weighed 14 pounds, 5 ounces. Although they didn't measure his length, I know he's getting longer because I've had to put a few sleepers and diaper shirts away. It makes me so sad when I do this as I know he's growing up so fast.

My favorite things about Mason this month,

1. When I feed him, he crosses his legs and holds my hand (sometimes he holds out his other hand with his fist clenched except for his thumb and index finger are pointing up)!

2. How chatty he is. He loves to talk to me; we actually have some pretty interesting conversations.

3. I really believe that he is beginning to love books. Whenever I read to him, he is very focused and smiles a lot. Right now his favorite book is probably "My Personal Penguin" by Sandra Boynton (it also has a great little song that goes with it that he just loves).

4. When I go to get him in the morning or after a nap, as soon as I lean over his crib, he gives me the biggest smile (this is the best part of my day)

5. He loves swimming; whether it's in the tub or in the pool. We have so much fun together during these times.

Ok, I'll stop now. I just love him soooo much!! I am just waiting for some pictures of the wedding and then I'll recap that very special day. Until then...
