5 Months Old

As I always say, time is just flying by. On Saturday, Mason hit the 5 month mark. He is now weighing in at a whopping 17 pounds and measuring in at 25 inches (time for a big boy car seat). Just a few days ago, Mason started sitting up on his own. He's still pretty wobbly, but he's working hard and loves being able to sit up and play with his toys. He's still moving around a lot, especially rolling over, but once he gets to his belly he gets pretty mad. So, this new sitting thing is making him pretty happy. Mason is also making some new noises this week. The next time you see him he'll be happy to tell you a story. It goes a little something like this, "yah, yah, yah, yah, YAHHHHHH". Quite interesting to say the least. Of course Chris would tell you all that Mason is "quite advanced"!

This past weekend we went to Greg and Carrie's house to celebrate our birthdays, our friend Maryanne's birthday, and also the exciting news that Carrie and Trina are pregnant. It's such an exciting time among our friends. I can hardly wait for all of our kids to grow up together.

So, as tradition has dictated, I would like to end by summing up my favorite things about Mason this month (I hope that I'm not too much of a brag, but hey, if you didn't love Mason as much as I do, you wouldn't be checking out his blog)!!!!

1. His chatting. He makes the greatest noises and faces. It's like he's really trying to tell you a story.

2. His crazy actions in his crib. I love to go into his room and discovering what new positions he's got himself into; I especially love the look of "uh, oh, I'm caught" that he has when he sees me.

3. His hair. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but he has the coolest hair. It completely stands up straight and it's so blonde, soft and fine.

4. How much he loves his mommy. I know this sounds conceited, but whenever he sees me or hears me, he gets a great big smile on his face. If I've been out of the room or something, when he sees me he seems so happy. If that isn't the best feeling in the world, I don't know what is. I absolutely love being his mom.

Love Jenn
