Happy late Father's Day!

Chris of course celebrated his first Father's Day last weekend. He spent the morning golfing with his dad and then we all spent the afternoon at Dave and Tannis' house with the family. Mason and I made Chris a video of pictures of the two of them. He also got a homemade beer cozy and a bocce ball set. Lucky guy, but he is a pretty good dad (or so Mason says)!

Chris figures it's never too early to teach Mason video games! (don't worry, we were just joking around, do you really think I'm going to let my son play games that don't encourage his natural imagination, encourage him to read, or get exercise, play outside...)
Of course we have still been spending lots of time with Mason's cousins Caryse and Reese. It's really neat to see the boys growing up and beginning to interact with each other. The other day Mason was even playing with Caryse. She was pretending to catch him and he thought it was just hilarious. So did she!

Mason is also still working hard at sitting up. He doesn't fall very often anymore. He loves to sit up and play with his toys and look all around. He's getting very close to being able to get to sitting all by himself. He is also getting very close to crawling. When that happens, Chris and I are in big trouble.

Uncle Mike and Auntie Raquel bought Mason this shirt

This past Monday, Mason and I didn't have any plans, so we decided to drive to Edmonton and surprise the family. What a surprise it was. First we went to Dad's work. He said he nearly peed his pants when he saw us. Mason even got a few balloons from Dad's work. Then we went to Mom's. Of course she cried. Even Nonna and Nonno were pretty taken aback. I'm so glad we were able to go. We spent 4 days in the big city, did lots of visiting, and even got to go to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill (well mom and I went while dad babysat Mason).
While we were there I had to go and do some work for my new job so Auntie Raquel babysat Mason. Raquel and Mike also had us over for a delicious homemade lasagna dinner.

One night Cathy and her mom and another friend of mine, Michelle, came over for dinner and a nice visit. Cathy couldn't believe how much Mason had changed since she last saw him in December.
For Father's Day Mason made Grandpa a garden stone for his flower beds. This is a recap of the official ceremonial laying of the stone!!!

When we got home on Thursday, Uncle Jordan was in Grande Prairie for a wedding. It was nice to get to visit with him for a few days. We missed Auntie Elaine though but she had a stagette in Lethbridge. We can't wait to see them both in the Shuswap this summer.

And finally, just a quick picture to show the progress of the house. I don't really like the siding colors, but this is one of the few things we couldn't change. All of the electrical, plumbing and insulating is done. The drywall was delivered last week and should be going in soon. They still say our possession date is August 24th. We have been really fortunate and sold our house in 1 week. We also lucked out by selling it with an August 31st possession date; giving us a week to move into the new place.
Well, until next time. Hope everyone is well. Please keep in touch,

Love, Jenn
