What a busy week we had here in Grande Prairie. As the rush of Christmas settles down and Mason and I develop our routines, we can finally begin to do some fun things together. Each day we try to read books, explore the house, sing songs, a play with our toys. I am specifically working of helping Mason to grasp objects right now and strengthen his back and neck muscles. One activity we do every day is take Molly for a walk in Mason's baby carrier. He usually falls asleep within the first few minutes, so I think he's finds it pretty soothing.

This weekend we also got to babysit Reese and Caryse for a little while. For all of the moms with multiple children, hats off to you. I don't think I could have done this without Chris' help! But, it was lots of fun and I must admit that I have the cutest and sweetest niece and nephew.

This week was also Mason and Reese's first time at the pool. It was great because our leisure Centre has a little wading pool that is like bath water. The only people in the whole pool were the few moms and babies that were in this little pool. It was quiet and calm; perfect for their first experience. We didn't put their heads under, we just let them float on their backs and get used to the water. They did great and lasted about 40 minutes. Erin and I are going to try and do this every Wednesday. I absolutely love having her on Maternity leave at the same time as me.
As for firsts, this was a pretty exciting week. Mason is now sleeping through the night on a fairly regular basis. In fact last night he slept for 10 1/2 hours straight. He also discovered his voice this week and likes to "talk" to us and to his toys. It's pretty cute. If you mimic his noises, he thinks it's funny and has a little chuckle. He's also learning about his hands. He loves to look at them and put his fists in his mouth. We figure he's either going to be a boxer or Superman with the way he holds them out!
Well, that's all for this week. We'll talk to you soon,
Love Jenn
