Happy New Year

Christmas has already come and gone and it was a very busy one at the Trydal house. The holidays began for us when Jordan and Elaine arrived from Lethbridge on the 22nd. It was great to see them (since it had been since the summer) and as you can see, Uncle Jordan was pretty happy as well. They were able to stay for a week and in that time we got to spend a lot of time together.

On the 23rd, Mason attended his first wedding for Amber Mates. He was quite stylish in his little Mexx outfit but slept through most of the festivities.

We spent Christmas Eve at Dave and Tannis' where we played some Nintendo WII, ate a great meal and listened to Dave read Twas the Night Before Christmas. On Christmas morning we stayed home and opened gifts (just the 3 of us). Chris got a deep fryer (hey, he asked for it) and some new basketball runners. I was spoiled as Mason bought me a beautiful diamond necklace. After our gift opening, we went to Erin and Doug's for breakfast and then back to Dave and Tannnis' for Christmas dinner and even more gifts. Mason was supposed to be Santa, but of course he slept through his duties!! On Boxing Day, Chris and I had his family over for a fondue. It turned out pretty well for our first attempt.

On the 27th, Jordan and Elaine headed back to Lethbridge and we were off for Mason's first road trip to Edmonton. As soon as we were on the Yellowhead, Uncle Mike left work and met us at home (obviously someone was a little excited to meet his first nephew)! We spent a great week with mom and dad and did a ton of visiting. Mason got to meet the rest of his family. By everyone's reactions, he is quite the loved little man. Of course, Grandma and Grandpa Grue were in heaven with Mason around and seemed a little sad when we left yesterday.

As for the coming week, Chris is still on holidays until the 8th so I know that we'll spend some good quality family time together. We bought Mason a new baby carrier for Christmas so if the weather holds out, we'll hopefully go for some nice walks with Molly.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and your New Year brings much joy, health and happiness. Until next time...

Love Jenn
